What We Collect

When you use the “Find My District” feature, you may enter your street address. This address is sent to the Google Civic Information API to determine your Congressional District. We do not store, log, or retain your address. It is used solely for the duration of that single request and is not saved on our servers.

Local Storage

Your resolved state and district are saved in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter your address on every visit. A tour completion flag is also stored to avoid showing the welcome tour on repeat visits. A language preference flag is stored to avoid re-detecting your browser language on repeat visits. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time by clicking “Change” in the site header or clearing your browser data.

Cookies & Tracking

VoteAmericaOnly does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking pixels. The only cookie-like storage used is a theme preference (light/dark mode) and a site tour completion flag saved in your browser.

If you use the language translation feature, a cookie (googtrans) is stored by Google Translate to remember your language preference.

If you participate in our daily poll, a cookie containing a random anonymous identifier is stored to prevent duplicate voting. This identifier cannot be used to identify you personally — it is a one-way hash that is not linked to any personal data.

Third-Party Services

This site uses the following third-party services:

• Google Civic Information API — to resolve addresses to Congressional Districts. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Translate — for automatic translation of site content. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — for hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or sell:

• Personal identifying information
• Email addresses (unless you contact us directly)
• Search queries or browsing history
• IP addresses for tracking purposes

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
